Thirty (30) Henderson Cats Approved For Sponsored Spay-Neuters

Henderson, Texas may not yet have a city-sponsored spay/neuter program for residents or a city-sponsored Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program to help manage community cats, but it does have a very generous cat lover who has stepped up to help!

This benefactor of Henderson cats and residents has offered to match up to $2500 of donations which can provide $5000 of sponsored spay-neuter packages to eligible recipients with your generous donations.  That's right NO COST to approved cat owners and/or cat colony caretakers thanks to our generous benefactor of the Spay It Forward fundraiser.

YOUR DONATION IS DOUBLED DURING THIS CAMPAIGN

WHO ARE YOUR DONATIONS HELPING?
A number of cat owners who apply for a sponsored spay-neuter just need some financial assistance to get their cat(s) fixed and your donations make that possible for them and the cat(s).
Other applicants are requesting assistance to spay-neuter one or more strays or a colony of community cats that they are feeding and watching over.

  1. Stray and feral cats are at the highest risk of increasing the Texas cat overpopulation and the number of homeless cats and orphan kittens.
  2. Outdoor cats are the next highest risk.
  3. Indoor/outdoor cats are at medium risk
  4. Indoor only cats are at low risk

PLEASE HELP PREVENT MORE ORPHAN KITTENS AND HOMELESS CATS.

A single cat can have over 100 kittens.

Every feral cat, stray cat, community cat, and orphaned kitten can be traced back to a pet owner who did not spay or neuter their cat.

An indoor pet may have escaped, a pet may have been abandoned, or dumped or a pet who is temporarily allowed outdoors got pregnant while outside, then 60 days later, an unplanned litter of kittens is born that often become free kittens who need to be raised and homed. The cycle may repeat with every kitten when it reaches reproductive age at about 4-6 months of age unless the owner spays or neuters them.

As of 03/22/2022, generous donors and our Spay It Forward campaign benefactor have enabled us to sponsored spay-neuter packages for thirty (30) cats which could reduce Texas cat overpopulation by 3000 cats.
