Special Cats Need Special Owners

GINNY IS HAVING DENTAL EXTRACTIONS TODAY

This poor girl is only a bit over 2 years old and already had a bad eye and now she is losing her teeth via surgery today.

She was feral upon arrival and, of course, pregnant.

By the time her kittens were weaned she began to be approachable…barely. Today she is pettable and holdable… briefly.

She had already been taken to a vision specialist in another state to determine if anything could be done for her eye. Unfortunately no.

She exemplifies a number of residents at the Duncan Home For Wayward Cats who have been saved from the streets and have required thousands of dollars in care and vet bills making them “high-value cats.”

Additionally, Ginny has, like some others, a few characteristics that may mean she will never be adopted.

Think about it, who will want to adopt a one-eyed, toothless cat?

AND on the other hand, even if an adopter applies. Why would I adopt out a high-value cat with thousands of dollars invested in it for only $100 unless I truly believe an adopter will care for one of our high-value cats as much as we have?

Special cats need special owners.

High-value cats may remain residents at the Duncan Home For Wayward Cats indefinitely.

After all, we are a home for wayward cats. 🙂
